Le cavalier au crépuscule naît d'une envie de silence. Un homme, sa monture, et l'immensité d'un champ ocre que le soleil quitte lentement. Peinte à l'huile sur toile, couche après couche, la scène joue de contrastes chauds (terre brûlée, or éteint, ombres profondes) dans l'esprit des grands paysagistes du XIXe siècle.
